Solid cbn inserts are used for rough and finish machining of hard steel ,cast iron and hard surface workpiece.
Cubic boron nitride inserts (CBN Inserts) is a high-performance type of cutting tool material from a polycrystalline mass. CBN is a high hardness, high heat resistance crystal synthesized by boron and nitrogen under high temperature and high pressure.
Processing workpiece: rough and finish machining of the hard steel ,cast iron and hard surface workpiece.
Processing materials: ferrous materials possessing hardness from approximately 45 HRC as well as gray cast iron, Cr-chilled cast iron and wear alloys on a cobalt, nickel or iron basis.
Case of CBN inserts for turning ball screw
The main components of ball screw machine tools generally use high carbon chromium bearing steel GCr15. The hardness after heat treatment is generally between HRC58-62. Therefore, when processing the end of the ball screw, the hardness and shock resistance of the tool material itself are required first.
The main advantages of Moresuperhard CBN grades are high hardness, good wear resistance, impact toughness and shock resistance.
Tool models for machining ball screws. The commonly used tool holder model is CCLNR/L, and the matching blade model is CNMN1207. The arc angle of the tool tip is adjusted according to the diameter of the ball screw.
